WHO SUFFERS MOST?

INTERESTING -XXUSTRATION. The brewers in Auckland appear to be amongst the people most seriousl}' .affected by the strike. Jn fact, a representative of one of the leading firms this morning pointed out to a "Star" reporter that the brewers stand to lose more than any others involved in tinpresent industrial trouble. Thousands of hogsheads of beer are standing in the warehouses, large country orders wait to be fulfilled, and the Auckland firms can do nothing. They arc warned by people on both sides to remember that any definite or unsympathetic course of action may result tn their detriment at the election pulls this time next year. "Meantime." said the gentleman imparting the information, "we find ourselves in this unfortunate position. Auckland unions have taken up a Southern quarrel, in which Southern unions will take no part. Our breweries are not working. Our men are idle. Vet the Southern breweries are sending large quautities of beer into the Auckland country districts, which Auckland would otherwise have supplied. Yesterday nue Southern firm alone delivered an order nf _00 hogsheads. It simply means that we in Auckland are surlViillg from a strike, called in "vm pa thy with a Southern union, and that while our men are idle the brewery employee, in the South are busy making beer to fulfil orders that Auckland brewer, are not allowed lo fulfil. It shows who suffers most in a strike of this kind"
