BY-DAWS ADOPTED. XO INCREASE IX CHARGES. A special meeting of the Auckland Harbour Hoard was held yesterday afternoon for tho purpose of considering the adoption of by-laws, framed on tbe lines of tho by-laws in existeitco in the Auckland port, for the proper control of tho Mnnukau Harbour. Compulsory pilotage hits been deleted. Mr J. H. Gunson pointed out that there would he no increase in wharfage cliargcs and ships dues. Hitherto the Railway Department in controlling the wharf made an inclusive charge for haulage and wharfage on goods inwards and outwards Prom Auckland. A- Boon as by-laws camo into force the haulage charge would he discontinued, and actually there would 1h no increase in charges, while in Borne directions there would be decreases to the extent of 50 per cent. The by-laws were adopted and will conic into force on September Ist.
