PROPERTY SALES.
There was a crowded attendance at Mr. J. Thornes' sale by auction of land and houses to-day. The auctioneer announced that the Awanui block of 13 acres had been disposed of privately for £970. A block of three houses in Railway Street. Parnell was withdrawn at £750. and a block of six houses, producing £4 8/6 per week in rent, at £1950. A cottage of eight rooms on allotment 56ft to Kowhai Street by 73ft to Raleigh Street, was sold for £495. A cottage in O'Neil Street, on allotment 40 x 102 ft, was sold at £265. The Remuera properties did not reach the reserve, and were .passed, in for private sale. The two acres and cottage at Avondale was sold for £450.
A property in Hepburn Street, near the corner *of Anglesea Street, 32ft by 114 ft, with a five-roomed dwelling, -was disposed. of this afternoon by Messrs Samuel Vaile and Sons for £310. An area of 152 acres at Rnapekapeka broniiht £35, an acre at Kawakawa £150, and 40 acres at Towal £40 at the same sale. '
