A suffragette riot occurred at Holloway Prison to-day. Eariier in the day Miss Annie Kenney. organising secretary of the W.SR.W., was re-arrested under the terms of the "Cat and Mouse" Act, and a hand of suffragette sympathisers? marched from an East End meeting, armed with sticks and stones, to the gate of Holloway Prison. Here they demanded Mies Kenney's release, and attempted to enter the prison. The police scattered the demonstra tons, who scaled the walls on the oppo- | site side of the prison and smashed two of the windows of the governor's quarters. Two shots were fired. The police patrolled the precincts of the prison for the remainder of the night and arrested two men and a woman. The women were each sentenced to two months, while the man was sentenced to four months. Mrs. Pankhurst has made a rapid recovery from her illness. To-day she was wheeled on to the stage of the Pavilion Theatre, and addressed a crowded meeting while lying in a bath chair. She said there, was atfll a secret reserve fund, hut appealed for subscriptions to meet current expenses.
Mrs. Pankhnrst's . police license was put up for auction, and fetched £100. Miss Kenney appeared on the platform in disguwe. and addressed the meeting. She was arrested outside after a desperate straggle between a dozen vonths, aided by a score or two of girls, and the police.
