The descendants of the first heirs have formed themselves into an association to demand restitution of the money from the French Government "We ask the Government," they say in their petition, "to do no more than a simple- act of Justice." They are, however, prepared to come to an arransement with the French Cabinet for an equitable settlement. If the refuses to meet the claim the German heirs of M. Thiery declaie that they will appeal to their Government to oring-pressure to bear thefr Tlshte for them. 5
