Sir, —I noticed in one of your late issues that a deputation from the Remuera Road Board had waited on the Mayor of Auckland in reference to Remuera being declared a separate ward when finally placed in the city, it being pointed out to Mr. Parr that the late election had shown that it was practically hopeless to expect Remuera to ever be. able to have a representative on the City Council under the present system. Mr. Parr was quite in accord with their request,' and thought it should be so, but I would offer a word of warning to Remuera to make sure of their ground, as the same thing was promised to ParneU, and the Greater Auckland scheme was carried with the ward system as one of its strong points, bnt 'we were cast aside and brought into the city to, fight our own 'battles, which made it | almost an impossibility to get represent tation.—l am, etc.,
