(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, this day. The Mayor (Mr. ilenry Lowe.) was installed to-day for a fourth term. Fire last night did considerable damage to the stable loffi of Mr. George Cribb, dairyman. The brigade did splendid work, and soon had the fire under control, saving the adjoining buildings.

Tupete Watwae, charged with forging the name of E. Parata to a telegraph money order, and obtaining cash, was remanded until to-morrow on baiL It is alleged tbe accused passed himself off as Parata. secured an order for £19 18/, cashed the same, and spent the major portion of the money.

A detachment of senior Cadets, under Lieut. Lewis, left Thames for Auckland to-day per train, to visit H.M.s. New Zealand.

Obituary: Mr. Thomas Clark, for years brewer for Campbell, Ehrenfried, and an old resident of the Thames.
