RESCUED FROM DROWNING.

NAVAL STOKER'S PLIGHT. Cries for help from the harbour in the direction of H.M.s. New Zealand attracted the attention -of Mr. Ch'as. Brown, Harbour Board night watchman on the Queen Street wharf, at 2 o'clock 'this morning. He summoned Constables Gillespie and Muller, and the three put out in a pulling boat, and were a'blc to rescue Charles Henry Collins, a stoker from H.M.s. New Zealand. He stated that he had been in the water for about „0 minutes. He was taken to the waterfront police station, where he remained for the night. It is not known how he came to get into the water.
