Mayes, of Frankton, was destroyed by fire: The house was half, demolished before the alarm was given, and the brigade's efforts were of no avail. The occupants just managed to escape in their night clothes. The origin of the fire is unknown. The house was insured for i - .*!..-". _nd the furniture for £100 in the State Office.
