The Squall sailed this morning for Tologa <Bay and Gisborne. The Fedcral-Sbire steamer Surrey is to sail from Auckland for Wellington oil.Saturday. The Union Company's latest reported ■purchase, the Waitomo, is to luad at New.castle this week for Lyttelton. It is expected that the Shaw, SaviU and lAlnlon Company's ss. Rangatira will sail irom Wellington for London on Friday next. She U due at Home about June IS. The Shaw, SaviU and Albion Company's E.s. I'akoha is due at Auckland on Friaay morning from Whangarei. She is fixed to eail finally for London about Sunday next. It is expected that the s.s. Kaipara will sail for Wellington to-morrow morning to land her cargo of London merchandise. The Union Company's collier Waipori is to go from Fiji to Newcastle after discharge of coal at the former port. The Waipori -will load at Newcastle for Auckland. The Waitemata is dne at Auckland tomorrow evening from Lyttelton and Timaru. Alter discharge of a produce cargo she will go to Newcastle. "While the Wakatere is undergoing survey and overhaul the Aupouri will take np the irunning in the Auckland-Thames service. ICaptain Farqnhar and his officers have transferred to. the Aupouri. Captain C. W. dimming, late chief officer <of the-Ma_a_i, has taken enrnmand of the Claymore. Captain Sullivan has rejoined —c Taniwba in place of Captain Greenberg, (Who has taken over the Waimarie. The steamer Talune left for the Cook and (Society Islands last night, the Marama sailed for Sydney, and the Navna for Westport via Wellington. The Craig barque Jessie Craig is now 17 Jflays ont on the passage from Edithburg (South Australia) to Auckland. She has aboard for this port a cargo of salt and gypsum. Captain E. Harris, of the Mokoia. has taken charge of the Union Co.'s new Bteamer Waitomo, relieving Captain Bardow. Captain C. McLean has taken command of the Mokoia, and Captain Barlow is Co join the Rakanoa. The agents for the Shaw, SaviU and Alfcion Company have been advised that St—l.s. Arcwa arrived at Plymouth from iNew. Zealand on Friday morning, May 2. The s.s. Mokoia was delayed by wet wea4—er in the Sooth, and in consequence is snot due here till Friday morning. Her departure for the South will be taken as usual on Saturday. The four-masted barqne Amaranth left the Columbia River for Auckland on March 28, p_d it was expected that the schooner Samar rwonld sail outwards from the same place for [Auckland during that week. Both vessels are to come to the agency of Messrs Lcy- | land and O'Brien. The C—ia correspondent of the "Fiji _'imes" reports that the cutter Gladys Elsa frecame a total wreck on the morning of iApril 10. Throughout April 15 the wind <was from the south, at midnight it veered to S.W.. and by 2 a.m. was blowing a regular hurricane, causing tbe vessel to drag _oth anchors and kedge.' with the result that she struck the northern end of Porufcur reef, later falling bow first into blue •water. The whole of the stern and side Ibas been washed away. The vessel was owned by Mr John Harmon, Levuka, and had on board 2i tons of bulk copra consigned to Messrs- Hedemann. Evers. and Co., all of which was washed out of her. ffhe Itnll and cargo were insured.

The barque Joseph Craig arrived at Auckland this morning from Melbourne, and was berthed at the Railway wharf to discharge •a cargo of produce. The well known barqnentine Senorlta came up into the harbonr later in tbe day, and went to an anchorage in tbe stream. She has a car»o of Newcastle coal to. land. Reports from Tiri Tiri lighthouse state that there are two other barques beating, up towards port. One of these is probably the Jessie Craig from Adelaide. FEDERAL-SHIRE -IN-. The F. and S. Line's chartered steamer Rimutaka arrived at Sydney from- —Iverpool, via Melbourne, on Monday. Departure is to .be taken from the latter port for Auckland at noon to-day. She is due here on May 12. Advice has been -received that the F. and S. steamer Kent left Liverpool on Saturday, May 3, for Durban. Hobart, Australian ports. Auckland and Southern New Zealand ports. DUNEDIN, this day. ln regard to the cabled advice respecting the wreck off Turtle Island, in the Lav Group, on April 15. of the American fourmasted schooner Lyman D. Foster, while bound from Pnget Sound to Suva, In charge of Capt. D. o. Killman, it may be stated that she was here in March, lull, with timber from the. Sound to the agency of Messrs Hogg and Co., of Dunciiiu. Capt.
