PAVING OF QUAY STREET.
DOUBLE LTXE OK RA.ILS. A lerrter fro.ni the Town Cleric (Mr H. ■W. AVilnon) to the Harbour Board this a,fternoon. stated, in connection with the possible levins: of « second railway line along yuay Street, a.t some future date. that the Council intended to proceed with the paving of the street with Neu-c-ha-tel asphalte. and that if at any time it were intended to lay down another line of rails, the street, would have to ie restored in the same material.
It, was divided to notify the rounr.il that the Railway Department have already agreed t-o lay a. second line of raile along Quay Street, and that tho Council should .therefore take into consideration tho proposed work of t-he Department, as obviously the asphalting of that portion of the Toadway where the line was to run would br a npedlffis expenditure. The Departinrat have also agreed to carry out the connections at the proposed Central wharf.
