PORT AU PRINCE, May 5.
The Haytian Congress has elected General Michael Orestes President, rucceeding General Auguste, who died on Friday. Rilie shooting was continuous in the streets during the funeral, and p panic occurred in tho church during the service., many being injured. The troops eventually restored order, iluch fighting marked the election.
