REFEREES' ASSOCIATION.
The Auckland Hockey Referees' Association held their ordinary fortnightly meeting on Monday evening at the Sports Chili. There was a good muster of members present, the chair being taken by Mr. E. E. Madden (vice-presi-dent), in tlio unavoidable absence or Mr. Hay. Several new members were elected, including Mr. Walton, from Wellington], who is known throughout Xew Zealand as one of the most capable "whistlers." Gratification was expressed at the fact that new members were coming in so well. A resolution of sympathy with Mr. X F. Koonan in the recent loss of ins mother, was carried by members stand-

cussed, whilst several items regarding new rulings, etc., were dealt with. The appointments arranged previously still held good, and it ie to be hoped that referees will turn out up to time on Saturday, and keep iv mind, too, that the "All Whites'" 100 yards is the first item on the sports programme.
