The Mayor reported that with a number of Council-lore .he had met the Works Committee of the Drain-age*" Board on Monday afternoon. Mr Biush contended that the pipe would eairy about 12 times the dry weather flow -of sewage. The ■only real result achieved wae that the estimate of coat had been cut down from £225 to £ICO.- Mr Bush was prepared .to stake his reputation that there would be no pollution from the overflow out of the sewer. Mr Baildon said the Council was committed to the echemc. and the Act gave the drainage engineer ample power. >Ir Baildon eaid ■they had saved about £60, but, he added, "We got taffy for having the cheek "to criticise Mr Bush at all." He thought they should agree to authorise the payment of the leeeer sum. This course was agreed to, alf-o that the outfall be extended lower down the creek. Mr J. l\V. Tatterefield said the overflow would have' to be carried out to sea yet. The motion -was then agreed to; -
