At a nSMtlog df the. Bdrdngh" Council last evening, Mr H. J. Hall (Deputy-Mayor) presiding, a report of the Works Committee", 'recommending that the Council take over the roaSs on the Hokoniit Estate, was. adopted. The tbnhcii voted £23 to the Otahiihn Brass Band. The Water and Drainage Comdiittee" reported dn the septic tank, and stated that they had ordered a certain defect to be remedied. The report was conflrmed, and the clerk *ais Instructed to ask Mr Gannon, engineer, to prepare a report on the tank.' On the niotfdri of Mr 3. Atkirisoh, seconded by Mr R. L. Absrfmn, a cordial vote of thknks ■e*is' passed to the Mayor and Deputy-Mayor for tieir services. Mr Hall, in acknowledging the vote, said they had all worked for thfe good of tiie borough, and a large amount of excellent work- had been done during their tenri i office:
