Tilt chairman, in his report, congratulated the branch on attaining its first anniversary and drew attention to the remarkable pren gress made by the League throughout New I Zealand. Votes of thanks to the chair and news* -■:■ . paper Press closed the meeting. THE ORPHAN HOME. • . -j The 53rd annual meeting of the Orphan Home trust Board was held yesterday. Mr. C. 3. Turiks presided,, in the unavoidable absence .of Bishop Grpseley. The annual report, for the J-eaf endißg. March 31 stated that there were now 65 children living at the heme. The amount (£500) required for the building of the cnapei on the property of the Board Having been almost subscribed; the completion of . . the fund guaranteed by a friend of the institution and the conditional anonymous, gift of £100 was secured. The ordinary : expenditure for the upkeep of the Homei amounted to £I,BJB i"/10, and the receipt 3 ffoin interest on Invested fiihds and paj-- . mente for malntenanre totalled £1,353 16/11. Of the balance. £223 14/s had been received in subscriptions and donation*, and. . a profit on the working farm of' £136 6/3 . brings the income to £1,711 17A. leaving a small credit balance for the year o£ £13 - 0/7. The retiring elective members of the Board—Messrs. T. Charter, Carltou Hay, C. J. Tanks, F. Yates, Dr. E. Eoberton, an* Colonel R. B.
