RUNCIMAN RAILWAY STATION.
PROTEST AGAINST EEMOVAL. A deputation waited ou the Prime Minister this morning to protest against the proposed removal of the Runctmaa rairway station a mile and a quarter nearer Pacrata. Mr. A. Schnritt, secretary of tie Planners' Union, introduced the* deputation, which consisted of Mr. Bottard, representing the settlers of Runcintan, and Mr. W. H. Thompson, representing Bombay. It was urged upon Mr. Massey that the proposed removal wouid be very inconvenient to the settlers of the vicinity, and he was requestoi to get the matter reinvestigated. Mr. Massey, who said that .this was the iiret he had lieard of the intended removad, promised, as member for the district, to telegraph immediately to the Minister of Railways to ascertain the reason for the removal of the station.
