GETTING RID OF A RIVAL.
STTAN-SHTH-KArS METHODS. THE MURDER OF SUNG PRESIDENT IN DANGER. PEKIN, April 27. The civil and military Governors of Kiang-su have telegraphed to the Cabinet accusing Yuan-shih-kai (Provisional President of China) of authorising the murder of Sung (ex-Minister for Education ), who was shot whilst he was about to board a train for Pekin at Shanghai last month. Documents containing details of the alleged plot have been secured. These documents show that Hung (the Premier's secretary) inspired a secret service official named Jurjg to arrange for the murder. Yuan-shih-kai, it is alleged, saw all the correspondence and authorised the murder to take; place on March 17. Jung, who is now investigating the circumstances of Sung's murder, states in his letters that Dr. Sun-yat-sen and others were scheming to niake Sung President. It is believed that Yuan-shih-kai is in grave danger from those who are seeking to avenge the death of Sung.
