FIRE DANGER AND DOMINION ROAD.
(To tlie Editor.) Sir,—l have seen some letters about the above subject in the " Star." I have also seen a statement from the Mayor of Mount Eden, in reference to fire appliances for the Borough. Mr. Nicholson -states that £1,000 will be provided for the purpose of obtaining a motor reel and a fire station. Now-, Sir, that is all very well; but how far will the money go, even if there is enough for the two objects specified? How ahout fire alarms, some permanent firemen, and lots of other things absolutely necessary to make an efficient 'and up-to-date brigade? I think the residents at the terminus end of Dominion Road, and also Mount Eden Road, are entitled to a lot more explanation and assurance. —I .am, etc., ANTI-FIRE.
