A correspondent states that the Horowhenua'Lake (near Levin) is fuHofjtrou which, by all accounts, reach as big a weight as the Taupo and Rotorua trout do. These fish have evidently come down the water-races when very small. That they do come down is shown by the fact that in a water hole on a property through which the water-races ran, many trout may be seen floating on the top if the mud is stirred up. They • have been seen there up to nine inches in. length. .. :
