He lr.ul been out all day in' a motor boat, which broke down on the return trip. A high wind drove the launch up the inner harbour, where it went iishorc. Lanninj; attempted to keep it floating to save damage. An hour later he. showed Figus of collapse, «nd his mates carried him to Hie shore, but he died before medical assistance could be obtained. The night was wild, cold, and wet, and it is thought death resulted from heart failure, brought about by exposure.
MEDICAL CERTIFICATE REFUSED.
BEEFTOM, this day. T. Stuart, a local painter, and an old resident of Reefton, died in the hospital yesterday owing to certain bruises. A "medical certificate was refused. Stuart fell down in a (it at an hotel where he was staying. A post-mortem examination will be performed.
