WAIKATO ITEMS.

(By Tclegrapti.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. At a meeting of tho Waikato Presbyterian Church it was reported that it had been agreed to divide the WaUoito West charge into two fully sanctioned charges and a mission district, Paterangi to form the centre of one charge, and Te Awamutu the other; Kihikihi to form a home mission district. Keference was made, to the great work done by the Rev. W. Woollass, and regret was expressed at his resignation. His call from Matamata was sustained, and placed in the hands of the Key. Mclnnis. Mr. R. Ashton was ordained home missionary. The necessary authority was given the Moderator to forward Frankton to a fully-sanctioned charge. Permission was granted Hamilton congregation to mortgage properties in order to proceed with the erection of the new church. Rev. W. Gow reported that one of his members had bequeathed £400 ,each to the Maori Mission and the church. Eev. A. A. (Sow was appointed Moderator of Te Awamutu, Paterangi, Kihikihi, Otorohanga, and Te KuitL, Rev. W. E. Blair being associated with him for Xgaruawahia and Huntly. A young man named George Allen, with a number of previous convictions for similar charges, was to-day sentenced to 48 hours' imprisonment for drunkenness and 14 days for using obscene language. An enthusiastic meeting of the Frankton Football Club was held last night. Officers were appointed for the year, and it was decided to commence the season on Saturday. At the annual meeting of the Hamilton Amateur Athletic Club the statement ot accounts showed that notwithstanding £10 .10/ had been given in donations, there was a credit balance of £42, the profit for the year having been £19. Officers were appointed. Instruction was given to the incoming committee to hold a sports meeting on June 3.
