Lieutenant Brissard was killed while aeroplaning at Verdun (France). The British War Office has ordered fiie exclusion of foreign pilots from the east coast bases. A raid has been made on a gambling house at Knightsbridge. Twelve men and four women were arrested. A meeting of 20,000 rairwaymen in Hyde Park yesterday celebrated the fusion of the thre*> railway unions. A cotton mill at Bromley Cross was struck by lightning. Many operatives were removed .in a collapsed concL£24on. The fire was extinguished.
