Isabella McWaugh, a widow, aged 74, who lived alone, was found dead in her cottage at Winton. Deceased formerly resided in Christcirnxch. Sh-e came to Southland five yeans ago, and has been in failing health.

Mr. Westbxook, a Wanganui dele"ate to the united Rechabite conference; sitting in Blenheim, died this morning, lie arrived on Monday evening, and was immediately taken ill, suffering from an internal complaint. He was removed to a private hospital, where an operation was found necessary, it took place la.sr evening, and the patient died this morn ing.
