AIRSHIP OVER PORTSMOUTH

A coastguard has notified the Admiralty that in tnr night a mysterious airship passed Ilnrnsoa. & Yorkshire town near the sea. It; miles north-east of Hull. A member of the Royal Flying Corps points out that Great Britain has neither an aeroplane nor a dirigible capable of coping with a German Zeppelin airship. The critic says that the armament for repo'ling aircraft only consists of a few quic*-lirers, and no one is yet trained in the handling of the weapons. He further says that the guns are not yet provided with suitable shells. PARIS, February 25. Seven airships, with a capacity of 20.000 cubic metres, to attain a speed of 40 miles an hour, have been ordered fof" the French army.
