PRISONER TRIES TO ESCAPE.
MOTOR "BUS CUTS IT SHORT. LOW-ON, February 10. The escape of a man from cnstod*. yesterday at Croydon, a London 6__urb, had a. sensational sequel. Breaking away f-om the police who had him in charge, the prisoner was gradually distancing the four constables by whom he was being pursued when he was knocked down by a motor _u_ and dreadfully injured. The victim was removed to the hospital in a precarious ( condition.
