LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE.

The ceremony of laying the foundation st.me of the new Presbyterian Church at Mr. Albert was performed on Saturday afternoon. This function had been delayed owing to the absence of Mr J. C. Eniriean in Europe, and consequently the hui'dinu- is now erected. The site ■was donated by Mr .J. C. Entrican, who ga*-e it as a memorial to the late Mrs Entrican. When it is opened. the Aucklar: 1 Presbytery intend to erect a tablet to that lady's memory. The site is one of the finest at Mt. Albert, being at the corn-r of the main road fronting the Railway Station. Notwithstanding the fa< t that the weather was threatening, some 300 assembled on Saturday afterno in to witnrss the ceremony of lavin-*-Th* foundation stone. The Auckland Presbytery a; ton.led. and the Moderator (Rev. VV. Tr..t ter i presided. The lessons were read by the Revs. McLean and Panniers. The Rev. G. B. Munro offered the dedicatory prayer, and the Rev. I. Jolly delivered an ad tree-? The clerk to the Presbytery (Rev. R. SomervtHe), related the steps leading up to the erection of the church, which will at first be a mission charge, and when the attendance w-T'nt- will have a fixed minister. The p v.
