It was resolved to refer the matter to a sub-committee consisting of Councillor Mowlem, the Mayor, and the Town Clerk to be dealt with. Pumping Works.—Th# engineer in charge of the reservoir and pumping station reported that the total number of gallons pumped during the month was 1,692.000 gals., whilst 612,000 had been pumped into the Takapuna Hiding. Fire Bell. —It was decided to erect a fire bell opposite the Council Chambers, under the supervision of Councillor Fearnley, the bell having been purchased from the Pitt Street fire brigade station some months I ago.
