(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON", this day. Hamilton tennis players defeated Cambridge representatives yesterday, sets 11—5, games 111 —95. St. Andrews also defeated six men players of Cambridge, sets 5—4, games 65—-64. On the croquet green Hamilton beat Cambridge in four games 'by 42 points. The following crews have been selected for the Ngaruawahia regatta:—Light maiden.s: Peters, Pulford, titevens, Killip. Heavy maidens: A. Dorm, E. Vincent, i>. Davis, G. Winn. Light juniors: S. Bevan, G. Vincent, G. Smith, A. Manning. The School Committee decided to make .1 strong protest in regard 'to delay in providing extra accommodation. The Board of Education had given instructions, two months ago, for the preparation of plans, but they were not yet ready. There had 'been eighty-seven new pupils enrolled this year, bringing the roll to 517. Satisfaction was expressed at the success gained in the recent examination, two of the pupils gaining scholarships, while eight passed. The local Dentists' Association is to be approached through Mr. J. A. Young, with a view to periodical inspection of the teeth of pupils. The excesive cost of school books wa-s referred tp, and a suggestion was ■made that cheaper editions should be provided. The hope wa3 expressed that the flower show at the breaking-up ceremony would be made an annual fixture. Provision will be made for teaching children swimming in the ■borough baths. Members of the Presbyterian Church welcomed Mr. and Mrs. *W. Goodfellow at a social on their return from the honeymoon. Addresses were delivered toy Mr. Auld (on behalf of the ladie3), Mr. Primrose (church officers), and Mr. MacDiarmid (Sunday school teacher), Miss McKee, who has been an energetic worker of the Presbyterian Church and Sunday School, was presented with a jewel casket from fellow teachers, and other gifts from members of the tennis club, at an afternoon party ait the Lake.
