AN EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.
A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE. DEFENCE MINISTER EXPLAINS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Replying to a communication from the Prime"Minister regarding cablegrams about a New Zealand expeditionary force, the Hon. -la* Allen cables from London: —"I wished to consult with the Imperial authorities in regard to the organisation necessary for an expeditionaryforce, its formation, number and nature of the contingent that would fit in withImperial unity, in case of necessity, so that when men volunteered under our Act everything would be ready for them to go.''
