A CLEAR COMPLEXION.
Dryness or harshness of the skin is frequently due to the use of soaps containing excess of alkali. Sometimes it is caused by hard water, with its ekinroughening ingredients of lime and noxious salts, or by preparations containing an excess of alcohol, such as eau-de-cologne. When, in addition to this, the skin is much exposed to -winds, dust and sun, there is no wonder that it becomes deprived of its life's sap and of natural lustre, and falls into unsightly corrugations and deep lines. Now, instead of using soap and water when the skin is not in a condition to tolerate them, or when it is excessively dry, it ehould be cleansed with Novena Cerate. This ie done by rubbing the Novena Cerate well into the skiiij leaving it on for some minutes, and then wiping it off with a soft towel. In this way the pores give up all dirt, the skin is more thoroughly cleansed than can be done by soap and water, while it will be nourished and grow more succulent and soft and smooth.
Valaze Skin Food, a remarkable beautifier, should be used in all cases on account of its tonic properties, which keep the skin in healthful stimulation, and consequently eound, smooth, p.nd supple. Without being a make-up, the clearing and whitening of the complexion which Valaze produces make it a most valuable preparation.
A very valuable adjunct to those specialities ie Novena Poudre, a "fatty" complexion powder for dry skins, containing 20 per cent of Novena Cerate. It ifi, in fact, nothing less than "the Novena Cerate in powder form. It keeps the skin delightfully humid, firm and supple. The Valaze Complexion Powder ie recommended for normal and greasy skins.
Valaze is 4/ and 7/ a jar; Novena Cerate, 2/ and 3/6; Valaze Powder and Xovena Poudre, each 2/6 a box. All chemists, or direct, poet free, from V-alaze Depot, City OhanAera, Queen Street, Auckland, or from Mile. Helena Rubinstein, Maison Valaze, Brandon Street, Wellington.
