DRUIDS' CONFERENCE.

(By Telecraph.—rreae Association.) WANGANUI, Thursday. The Grand Lodge Eighteenth Biennial Conference of the North Island Druids concluded at Marton this morning. After long and animated debate the old death levy was abolished, and the conference adopted the insurance scheme propounded by the executive of the Order, providing for the full benefit of £100 upon pa} r inent of £1 per annum. The Grand President, Bro. Wade, in his address, showed that the funds totalled £31,015 11/10, a net increase of £7,141 7/9. This included £3,305 5/11 belonging to the investment account. Considerable discussion ensued on proposed amendments to the rules for electing district presidents. With certain small additions the old rule, whereby district presidents can be elected by the lodges in their respective districts, was reinstated. It was decided to make past secretaries eligible for election as district president. Executive officers were elected as follow:—Grand president, Bro. A. Thompson (Auckland); grand vice-president, Bro. J. Tennant (Grey-mouth); grana secretary, Bro. J. N. Grant (Wellington) ; grand treasurer, Bro. R. Fletcher (Wellington); grand guardian, Bro. F. Jennings (Wellington).
