The battle was disappointing inasmuch as there was too much clinching for the crowd's liking. There was an enormous attendance, and at the outset 2 tc 1 was laid on Driscoll. It was purely a Driscoll house, anc was (frequently hissed for offence; that were not apparent. Lord Lonsdalc was thrice compelled to demand fair plaj from the crowd. Honours were even a< the termination of the tenth round, bw iloran was ahead in the nineteenth though the crowd demonstratively fa vnured "Driscoll. When the gong sotindet for the last round Moran went in to '"mb it." and had his opponent at his mercy Driscoll was groggy and unable to de fend himself, but the gong saved tin when he -was practically knocked out. Ai enthusiastic-Teception met Mr. Douglas verdict. Hughie Mehegan. who was standinj ■well back, expressed an opinion tha on and squarely.
