RATES TO AUSTRALIA. (Received 10.20 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. Mr Fraier (Postmaster-General) has returned from Xew Zealand. The most important scheme he discussed with the Hon. R. H. Rhodes related to the wireless stations. Mr Frazer considers that it ought to be possible tc transmit messages from Australia to Xew Zealand by wireless at 2d a word, the present rate being 4*d. Definite proposals were made to Mr Rhodes regarding communication with other parts of the world. The proposals included cheapening rates of postal notes. No arrangement was reached in the j matter.
