Some former residents of Samoa were very hospitably entertained on board the German warship Cormoran yesterday afternoon. Refreshments were" provided on a liberal scale, and a very pleasant time was spent, officers and men doing all in their power to make the visit of the shore party enjoyable. It was gathered by those who visited the worship that things are somewhat unsettled in Samoa, consequent on the death of the late King. As far as can be judged at present, no successor to the late King is likely to be appointed. It is expected that three German war vessels will shortly be stationed for a time in the vicinity of Samoa.
