THE HUNTLY MINERS.
fTo the Editor.) Sir, —Your current issue contains statement's in fererence to the dismissed men ait Huntly whioh is incorrect iv soirre particulars, aaid misleading in all. The dismissed men were not discharged because they refused t-o join the Arbitration Cnicm. The whole of the men, with one exception, had applied for admission; their names accepted, and were awaiting t-h-e decision of the executive at the time of their dismissal. The exception was, at the time of -his dismissal, a member of the Arbitration Union. The men have ■also renewed their application, placing in the secretary's band their entrance
fee and contribution, and are awaiting the receipt, there being nothing in the rules of th? union to debar them from members-hip. We trust you will publish this in the interest of men whom, whatever their opinions may be, are at lenst entitled to that fair play that we Britishers brrast so much about.—l am. etc., t. H. MARSHALL. Huntly, December 22.
