Watchchain (Conqnest) joined in at the mile post, and he and Santa Rosa raced away together two or three lengths in front of Domino. The pair clapped on the pace, and when the post was reached Santa Rosa had a length the best of Watchchain, with Domino some lengths away. The pace set was very solid and there was no loafing on the road, the gallop being one of the best recorded at EUerslie.
