ONE-DAT ERECTION OPENING '} SEBVICE. i Following right on the successful erection of the Methodist Church ECall on Saturday last, and then three well-attended serviceon Sunday, the hall was filled to overflowing on Wednesday night, when the following programme was given (Rev. Rowe in the chair): —Solo, Thompson Tates; solo. Miss Madden; musical monologue, Mr. Jones; solo, Mrs.' Madden; solo, Master Wood; solo, Miss Carson; solo, Mr. Burton; recitation, Mr. Souster. The audience desm_nded esncores after each item. Interspersed with these Items, short addresses were given by the Revs. Porter and Rowe and Messrs. Faint,worth, Smith, and Souster. Special reference was (made to the good work of Mr. Souster in designing an_ superintending the erection and completion of the building. This labour of love was gratoltonsly given by the architect, and; much enthusiasm prevailed when a votes of thanks was accorded Mr. Booster. Mr Souster, in replying, said the Church Hall wis only tbe beginning. From what he could see a church would soon folio—, when thisbuilding would be handed over to the children for a Sunday school. Reference was made to the generosity the Church of England had extended to the Methiwllsts, in that for 12 months the Anglicans of Papatoetca gave the Methodists the use of their parish hall for services at a less cost than that of the lighting. From the Sunday services and the Wednesday night enter——ment a sum of over £15 was raised for the budding fund.
