New Sylvia At No. 2 level the crosscut Is in 203 ft ahead of the rise. The reef is Sjft In width and carrying fair values. There is more quartz in the hangingwall which was left in the rise 20ft down, and the drive will be continued ahead to intersect It. The usual stopes are in progress at No. 3 level where the reef maintains Its size and value. In No. 1 stope the reef is making nice minerals. Two stopes are in progress at the Intermediate level, with no change to report At the battery level three stopes are in progress in No. 1 level and fair ore is being won. Good progress Is being made with tbe low level. New Success.—The main level crosscut is ln 205 ft. Another 45ft of driving should reach tbe main lode. A little water is making in the face. Hanraki Beefs.—Stoping has been continued on tbe Hanraki North reef, gold being frequently seen in the stone broken out. .' t the Goiconda level a Sue looking reef is ~ow coming in. De lienzie'g winze is now being cleared oat and a start made to drive on a promising looking reef. Four men are engaged in the stopes, and a little gold is seen in the quartz broken ont. The battery bas started crushing. Occidental Consolidated.—A little quartois making in the face, so the reef bas every chance of opening out ahead, with more solid quarts. The cocntry in the face is somewhat broken. Only a little quartz has been broken in the stopes this week, and gold could be seen In the stone. At No. 4 level the crosscut has been cleaned out and timbered where necessary. This will be pushed ahead to cut No. 2 reef. Crushing is proceeding. Old Hanraki. —The seaward face bas beer extended to 126 ft from the crosscut. The reef is smaller. In-the seaward block foui stopes are in progress. The reef is up v 12in, and a few pieces of picked stone were got. In tbe north block two stopes art being worked. The reef is op to 8!n, cany Ing favourable Indications for gold. Th< crosscut for the Green Harp reef is ir 126 ft from the ftatsheet. A leader up tt 4in in width has been intersected. Tb< country looks fair. Golden have been con fined to driving on the Perseverance reef The total distance driven from the crosscol is 42ft. The ore Is becoming more oxidised and shows a small dish prospect. May Queen.—No. 10 level (IOOOft level) The Exchange reef ln the drive westwarc from the main crosscut is now a nice looking body of quartz about 18ln thick, and carries very good minerals, but no gold has been seen for the past two or three break ings down. The footwall that was passed through in the chamber should be mcl with ln abomt 20 to 30ft ahead of the pre sent drive. Saxon. —The Ko. 7 level crosscut is in 78 feet. According to sorvey, this Is about where No. 2 reef should be met with, and No. 3 should be cut tn another 25 feet of driving. Several. seams of quartz were passed tairongh, trat nothing to correspond with these reefs. Should the present country continue, one or both reefs should be to hand "within a week. Deep Levels. —Tbe Victoria subsidiary crosscut is in 405 feet from the main level. In the main erosecut, the diamond drill Is hi 92 feet. The country is still of a very broken nature.
