LONDON, December 15. <K Mr ; J VV!nston Churchill, First Lord of the Admiralty, addressing the London naval reservists, said that the Admiralty would use its reservists if necessary in the front line. The country was now passing through a picturesque period. Prosperity was great, our colonies were drawing "closer, the ambassadors were meeting to narrow the scope of the war, and the navy was playing a vital part, doing more than any other agency to bind the colonies together, leading not merely to national safety, but to Imperial union.
