YOUNG MAN DROWNED.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.} HOKTTIKA, Friday. Word was received here to-night that a young man, about 19 years of age, was drowned in the Haast River (South Westland). He was the eon of Mr and Mrs Eggelling, who reside at Okura, some eight miles further south. No particulars are to hand, but it is understood that deceased was crossing the river on horseback at the time of the fatality.
