CANADA AND THE NAVY.
BUNISTERIAI, DIFFERENCES. (Received 8 a.m.) OTTAWA, October 18. The resignation of Mr F. D. Monk (Minister for Works) is reported to be imminent as a result of Mr Borden's naval policy. He demands that Canada's emergency contribution of five millions to the Imperial navy shall first be submitted to a plebiscite. CEURCHIIX'S VISIT OFF.
A MATTER OF POLICY. (Received 11.30 a.m.) OTTAWA, October 18. _ Mr Winston Churchill (First Lord of the Admiralty) has abandoned his proposed Canadian visit. The Press unfavourably regarded his proposed presence during the settlement of the Canadian naval policy.
