TRAGEDY IN A TAXI.
ACTRESS SHOT DEAD. MURDERER ATTEMPTS SUICIDE (Received 11.10 a.m.) LONDON, September 30. A tragedy ocurred in a taxi cab in Fenchurch Street to-day. Mis no. Dudley ( a well-known principal boy m London pantomimes) and l!.awnrd Hopewood (director of a city company) were in the cab, when three sbots were heard in quick sneession. The tftxi pulled up, nnd it was found that MiSs Dudley had been shot in three places, and was dead. Hopewood was arrested while attempting to commit suicide. He is a married man. In his pocket was found a will bequeathing to tho dead woman's child the sum of £2.000, showing that the crim* was premeditated.
