Applications for the right to sell' ice cream and roasted peanut* at agricultural shows come from time to time before the executive of the A. and P. Association, and are generally regarded with disfavour by that b*sr. Yesterday the committee considered the application "from a pentleman who wished to perambulate the spring show with an ice cream barrow, and to pay £3 for the privilege. It was at first proposed, that a. subcommittee (to be called, presumably, the "Ice Cream Committee") be set up to i deal with the momentous question, but' the proposal of one member, that the correspondent's request be declined, met with no opposition when put to the vote. So reason was advanced for such hoetilitr to tha edibles mentioned, but possibly the'committee U'M&lous for the digestions of fch* yC-inger generation.
