HORSE-MAIMING OUTRAGES.
WARNING PROM "LEADER. OF GANG." The notorious Great vVyrley maiming outrages of many years ago, -which led .to many questions in Parliament on the Edalji case, are recalled by a fresh outbreak of dastardly outrages in- the district. At Darlaston, Staffs, a valuable mare, belonging to Messrs. Simmonds and Son, was found to hare been terribly mutilated.
i A -man servant, on going to the Qeld. dis!covered the animal standing quivering in a !pool of blood in ihe middle of the fleW with two wounds hi her side, one over seven inches long and three indies deep, and the other three ami a-linlf inches long and nearly four inches In depth.
post card signed "Captain of the Wyrley Gang" was received by a Wolverhampton newspaper as follows:-— headquarters marketplace Wyrley Warning notice. J Qt a meeting of our secret gang lately there will be a maiming outrage in the disjtrict to-nigkt by my order and if the bluebottles want to know who done it send them to mc and I -wfll kill all the lot of the bluebottles and also I want 8 men to Join our gang and 100 pounds a week to kill horses and no traitors need apply for the job, signed g h. darbj captain o< the wyriey gang.
