NEW GENERALS APPOINTED. TO LEAD ITALIAN FORCES. (Received 11.42 a.m.) HOME, September 5. It is officially announced that General Caneva retires from the post of Com-mander-in-chief in Tripoli. Generals Ragni and Briccola will succeed him, being bath appointed to separate commands in Tripoli and Cyrenaica respectively, with a view to pushing the operation in the interior.
