George Fowlds, who was recently elected president of the ' Auckland district, took his Seat. Mr T. Henry, the retiring president, in welcoming Mr Fowlds to' the office, referred to the good work done by that gentleman in the matter of organising the United Labour party, and also spoke eulogistically of the stand always taken by him in politics. He felt honoured at I having the opportunity of welcoming Mr >; Fowlds as their president.
