HAWKE'S BAY JOCKEY CLUB.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. The annual meeting of the llawke's Bay Jockey Club was held on Thursday. The balance-sheet -shows a profit on the year's -working expenses of £1.227 16/2, «n Increase of £532 7/5 on last year. In 1911 £8.625 was paid in stakes against £7,340 in 1912, when, however, there was a day's less racing. Totalisator receipts for the year show an increase of £760 7/2 on the previous year and £2,907 on l»10. The Government tax amounted to £2,060 19/. against £1,817 10/ last year. The report approved of the decision of the Rat-ing Conference to appoint stipendiary stewards, and nrges an increase in stakes and an increase in the number of long distance races dur'lig the ensuing season. The Hon. J. D. Ormond was elected president, and Mr G. P. Donnelly vice-presi-dent, both unopposed.
