A CKABGE OF MURDER. (Eeceired 10.50 a.m.) SYDNEY, this da.v. iAfc the inquest on the man named McCarthy, who was shot dead on iPriday byGeorge Albert Thorby, aged 20, it was j stated that the deceased was visiting hie I brothers, who were employed 'by ThoTby. 'McCarthy's quarrpl was originally caused through ThorDy's resentment at ■McCarthy's friendliness with his siater. He was ■committed ior trial on a charge of murder. During an altercation at Itabbo beiween Thorby and McCarthy, Thorby was subsequently attacked by McArthur with a tomahawk, whereupon Thorby is alleged to have fired twice, killing McCarthy instantly. Thorby later reported himself to the police.
