The list of first offenders and others was headed by a native of Savage Island, who intimated that this was his first breach during 104 years* residence in Auckland, and was consequently considered to have earned a discharge. Another first offender forfeited hail. Henry Koster was fined 10/, and John Hayes was fined £1, in default a week in gaol. Edwin C. O'-H-are. on charges of drunkenness and breach of his prohibition order, was remanded for a day, it being understood that he would be then committed to Rotoroa Island 1 for a term. DISCIPLES OF JOHNSTON, Two men arose from their beds somewhere ahout midnight yesterday, and in their sleeping uniform went to the street outside (Hobson -Street), where they proceeded to practise on each other the art of which Jack Johnson is at the moment the greatest living exponent. The • fight did' not go to a finish, police interference putting a stop to it after each ■ of tbe performers had effected a few | alterations to the other's facial makei up. ' I Charles Sussey was charged that on k June 13 at Christchitrch he stole a gen- ' tleman's bicycle, valued at £!) the nro--5 perty of Bell Bros., and was Temanded for a week to appear at Christcburch. Bail "Wis allowed in one surety of £100.
